WM CARE Team is absolutely delighted to share that Hannah Bawdon, one of our key volunteers, has raised a staggering amount for the team following her participation in the Birmingham – Black Country Half Marathon on Saturday 7th July.
WM CARE Team are delighted to announce that Hannah Bawdon, one the WM CARE Team’s key volunteers, will be taking part in the Birmingham – Black Country Half Marathon, on Saturday.
Starting at 9:30am sharp, Bawdon will be running from the British Waterways Canal Dock in Wolverhampton to Brindley Place in Birmingham City Centre. She’s been training hard, despite the heatwave, and is looking forward to completing the challenge.
Having been volunteering for the CARE team since 2009 as a Clinical Team Lead, Hannah has become a pillar within the charity, and is excited to be raising money to support the delivery of clinical care and the professional development of the volunteers.
So far, she has surpassed her target, raising an impressive £530 (£651.25 including gift aid).

Dr. Laura K ran the Manchester Marathon last weekend in aid of the West Midlands CARE Team and Air Ambulance Service. With a target of £500 in mind, supporters of Laura and the charities rallied together, raising a grand total of £1,052.75, including gift aid.
Care Team Doctor Iain Davies, a Consultant in Emergency Medicine at New Cross Hospital, Wolverhampton hosted an extremely successful trauma education day in November 2017. A group of doctors from the Emergency Department attended to learn about a variety of topics from Catastrophic Haemorrhage to Airway Management, Thoracic Trauma and Environmental Conditions. The education day also had practical sessions on Surgical Airways, Chest Drain Insertion, Long bone splintage and Spinal Immobilisation.
