Tividale Town's Women's Guild

Members of the Tividale Town's Women's Guild raised an amazing £165 for the Team through a cake sale and donations following a presentation from one of our Charity members.

- In memory of Mrs Pat Steer
Date: 10th January 2019
The staff at Aldermore bank in Birmingham organised a cake bake and collection in memory of their late work colleague Mrs Pat Steer to raise funds for the West Midlands CARE Team. This event proved a great success and raised an amazing £270 for the team. In an additional act of support for the CARE Team, the bank went on to donate an incredible £5000 to the charity in memory of Pat.
Pat's daughter Emma, commented "Mum would be very pleased to know that money raised in her name will be helping to save lives! Thank you to everyone for being so generous"
We are extremely grateful to Pat's family and work colleagues for their generosity and support.
West Mids Ambulance Service
- Dudley Hub
£1,530.00 + £302.50 Gift Aid

Seventeen members of staff from the West Midlands Ambulance Service Dudley hub set themselves the challenge to swim 21 Miles, the width of the English Channel, in order to raise funds for the WM CARE Team. This equates to around 80 lengths for each participant.
Whilst responding to daily 999 emergencies, many of these Paramedics and Emergency Medical Technicians have been assisted by volunteers on the CARE Team at the scene of incidents and were keen to show their appreciation.
A big thank you to Dudley Leisure Centre who provided the team with free use of their swimming pool for the duration of the challenge. Incredible effort by all - Well done!
Dr Bradley Allen
£1,415.00 + £260.00 Gift Aid

Dr Bradley Allen successfully completed the gruelling New York Marathon to raise money for the West Midlands CARE Team.
Currently working in Solihull Hospital, Dr Bradley Allen is a Junior Doctor and is working towards a career in anaesthetics and intensive care. He has witnessed the work that the WM CARE Team do and as a result made the decision to raise valuable funds to keep the service operational and raise awareness of our work.
Dr Allen commented: “Supporting the CARE team whilst I do this will make it easier for me mentally and give me a bit more strength to carry on when it gets tough; moreover, it will help to support the team who provide immediate care which saves lives.”

When: 29th September 2018
Team member Matt Ward has successfully completed the Rodbaston 10km run to raise funds for the WM CARE Team.
The event was a 10k multi-terrain route around Rodbaston Hall in Penkridge.
Matt works as a Consultant Paramedic for the West Midlands Ambulance Service but in his spare time also volunteers as a paramedic with the CARE Team.

1st Sedgley Scout Group

1st Sedgley Scout Group donated an awesome £200 to the team from funds raised at the 2017 Sedgley Charity Beer Festival.

Dr Hannah Bawdon
£1,043 + £222.00 Gift Aid

Dr. Hannah Bawdon successfully completed the Birmingham – Black Country Half Marathon in the searing summer heat to raise funds for the WM CARE Team..
Her run took her from the British Waterways Canal Dock in Wolverhampton to Brindley Place in Birmingham City Centre. Passing over the finish line was a massive achievement and we’re proud of Hannah for completing this impressive feat.
Having been volunteering for the CARE Team since 2009, Hannah is an integral part of the charity and has made a massive difference through her role as one of our educational leads within the service.

Shells Book Art
When: 9th April 2018
Michelle from 'Shells Book Arts' held a raffle day on the 9th June 2018 in order to raise funds for the CARE Team. A number of prizes including some unique hand crafted books that were donated and raffled off in aid of the Team.
Michelle stated "Its a privilege to raise money for a worthy cause".
Amazing effort Michelle. Thank you for all your hard-work in preparing the books and running the stand.
Dr Laura Kocierz
When: 8th April 2018
Dr. Laura Kocierz ran the Manchester Marathon in aid of the West Midlands CARE Team and the Air Ambulance Service. She raised an amazing £1,052.75 that was split equally between the two charities.
When asked about why she chose to support the CARE Team, Laura expressed how, “No one wakes up thinking they are going to need the CARE Team, but the team is there and ready to respond if you or your loved ones need them.”
Having been a doctor volunteering with the team since 2012, Laura has seen first hand what a difference the team can make to critically ill or injured patients. She’s also had the pleasure of working with other members of the team who are fully committed to providing an excellent level of patient care.
Seeing how dedicated they are to providing such an excellent level of care, Laura wanted to support the team further, raising some of the vital funds the Team needs to continue their valuable work..

CARE Team Doctors Velo Team
When: 24th September 2017
Congratulations to CARE Team Doctors Chris Abbott, Haf Aladin, Andy Owen, Ryan O'leary and Ian Russell who have each completed a gruelling 100mile cycle in the Birmingham Velo to raise money for the team!

Dr Jake Turner
Amount Raised: £871.25 + £217.81 Gift Aid
In 2017, Dr Jake Turner (left in photo) undertook a number of endurance events, culminating in the London triathlon to raise funds for the team.
He successfully completed the following events:
1) Nottingham X-Runner (10K assault course)
2) Tour of the peaks sportive (85Km cycle, 2000m elevation)
3) London triathlon - Olympic distance (1.5K swim, 40K cycle, 10K run)
