Lecture – Managing the Agitated Patient
Dr Thomas Burton and Sgt Nick Grahame, will deliver a sessions that is a practical look at managing agitated patients in the pre-hospital setting, delivered through case-based discussion and co-presented by a doctor and police officer.
Attending this talk, you will:
• Understand how to recognise and assess acute behavioural disturbance
• Explore legal frameworks including the MCA, MHA, and police powers
• Learn how to manage risk, scene dynamics, and safe escalation
• Leave with practical tools to navigate one of the most challenging scenarios in frontline care

Lecture – Delivering under Duress
Dr Mat Mat MacDonald will be discussing common obstacles to effective teamwork in difficult clinical situations, together with useful strategies for overcoming them.

Target Audience
Any person from any background that delivers pre-hospital emergency care at any level, from first aiders though to advanced practitioners would benefit from the lecture content.
