Today members of WM CARE Team were kindly hosted by the Coventry Sikh community at their Vaisakhi celebrations.
In line with the Sikh philosophy of “Vand Ke Shakna” or charitable giving, the procession or “Nagar Kirtan”
commenced with a donation ceremony to a number of British charities.
WM CARE Team alongside four other charities received a donation of £501, which was raised by Coventry’s Sikh community.
Despite their vital role, many people are unaware that the CARE Team operates as a charity, relying solely on donations and fundraising efforts to continue their life-saving work. Unlike other emergency services, the CARE Team does not receive NHS or government funding. This means that every piece of specialist equipment, every training session, and every call-out is funded by the generosity of people like you.
Our volunteers are passionate about making a difference. They donate their time and expertise to ensure that our community receives the highest standard of care. To further support our mission, some of our dedicated volunteers will also be participating in the Great Birmingham Run on the 4th May 2025. Their commitment to both the race and our cause highlights the extraordinary lengths they go to in order to support our community.
It is with a heavy heart that the West Midlands CARE team announce the passing of our dear friend and colleague, 𝐃𝐫 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐞 𝐂𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐤.
The first of four scheduled Education and Development days in 2025 for West Midlands CARE Team (WMCT) took place on Monday 13th January at Bournbrook Fire Station.
The purpose of training days like this is to give members the opportunity to practice important skills and procedures together as a team and ensure that everyone is up-to-date with the latest in pre-hospital research and guidelines.
The West Midlands Central Accident Resuscitation and Emergency (CARE) Team, have opened up recruitment for the first time in over 12-months for experienced doctors to join as a Trainee Clinical Lead with the team.
Some of the most critically unwell patients in the Midlands are set to get hospital level care at the roadside thanks to a generous donation from the HELP Appeal (the only charity in the country, dedicated to funding hospital helipads and improving emergency care) for sixty thousand pounds towards our new response vehicle.
