Clinical Team
Dr. Alex Wollaston
Consultant
Joining the team in 2016, Alex is a Consultant in Anaesthesia & PHEM and having trained locally, he continues to work across multiple PHEM services within the West Midlands.
He holds the Fellowship in Immediate Medical Care (FIMC) and Diploma in Retrieval & Transfer Medicine (DRTM).
Andrew Boazman
Nurse
Andrew (Drew) has volunteered for the CARE team since 2012.
Drew is a Registered Nurse with over 15 years of Critical Care experience, with a background in Liver Critical Care, Critical Care Outreach (CCOT), and Acute Pain.
Drew has extensive experience as a Critical Care Flight Nurse and worked for several large international aeromedical services repatriating level 2 and 3 patients.
Drew currently works for the regional critical care transfer service ACCOTS as a Band 7 Senior Transfer Practitioner and Clinical Educator.
His interests include; resuscitation, transfer & retrieval medicine and clinical education.
Drew enjoys volunteering for the CARE team as it gives him the opportunity to deploy his in hospital critical care skills to patients in the Pre Hospital (PHEM) setting.
Dr. Andrew Mockridge
Doctor
I’m a final year registrar in anaesthesia and intensive care medicine with a consultant post starting in October 2024. I’ve been a HEMS doctor with TAAS since 2022 and recently started working with EMICS.
I’ve been part of the CARE Team since 2018 and enjoy working on a unique and well established training platform for multidisciplinary colleagues.
My main interests are education and mentorship.
Anneke Gyles
Nurse, ACP
My background is in paediatric critical care and I currently work as an advanced practitioner on the regional paediatric and neonatal critical care retrieval team.
I joined the CARE team to challenge myself in a new area of practice and to bring some paediatric specialism to the team.
Dr. Daniel Stephenson
Doctor
Dan is an emergency medicine registrar working in the local major trauma centre.
He joined CARE after being inspired by his interactions with the team in A&E, and to improve his own resuscitation skills and knowledge.
He also takes an interest in how human factors affect team performance in high stress environments.
Ellie Monsell
Nurse
Ellie is an Advanced Clinical Practitioner working in ED. She became passionate about pre hospital medicine whilst training to be a nurse back in 2013, taking a four year detour in her career after qualification to focus on sustainable first aid and community responder training in East and Southern Africa becoming the programmes manager for a Scottish NGO, relocating to Tanzania.
Mr. Emir Battaloglu
Consultant
Consultant in Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgery at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, with fellowship training in Major Trauma, Limb Reconstruction and subspecialty interest in Chest Wall Injury Management & Rib Fixation.
Research interests in Trauma Resuscitation & Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine.
PHACTS Course Director, with interests in surgical skills technical teaching and human factors training.
Ian Street
ODP
Ian is a Senior Resuscitation Officer/Practitioner holding professional status as a HCPC registered ODP.
He has an interest in resuscitation, deterioration, trauma, anaesthetics and critical care.
He has practiced across those areas within adult and paediatrics.
Ian joined the team to utilise his transferable skills in the pre-hospital environment and to give back to the communities of the West Midlands.
Joshua Millwood
Paramedic
I’ve worked in the pre-hospital sector since 2012, but have recently transitioned into an in-hospital traineeship undertaking a Masters in Advanced Clinical Practice.
I joined WMCT to broaden my knowledge, exposure to and understanding of critically unwell patients in the pre-hospital environment. Through my Clinical Support role with the team I enjoy the opportunity to work alongside and learn from other healthcare professionals such as Doctors, Nurses and ODPs.
I have a keen interest in Enhanced Care and how EC Teams interact with colleagues working in the Ambulance sector. I’m also the IT Lead for the team, introducing new systems to streamline the operational process of our work.

Kirsty Slane-Davidge
Nurse
Kirsty is an Army Emergency Specialist nurse who has a keen interest in Pre-Hospital care.
She deploys regularly to places such as Kenya in support of Military training Exercises.
Kirsty, embraces work as part of a small Critical Care Team in support of West Midlands Ambulance Service.
Matthew Forrest
Paramedic
Matt is an Advanced Clinical Practitioner in Emergency Medicine, credentialed by the Royal College of Emergency Medicine in both Adult and Pediatric Emergency Care. He also works part-time on other PHEM platforms and is passionate about advancing practice in PHEM and ED, he has a clinical interest in procedural sedation.
Dr. Rachel Edwards
Doctor
I’m an Emergency Medicine Registrar based in the West Midlands.
I’ve been a member of the CARE Team since December 2022. My long term goal is to be an EM/PHEM Consultant which is one of the many reasons I chose to join CARE.
My particular areas of interest include cardiac arrest, major incident management & research.
Outside of work I mainly spend my time running round after my kids.
Rebecca Price
Nurse
I am an RAF Emergency Nurse with a keen interest in Prehospital care.
WMCT allows me to be part of an enhanced care team utilising skills for military operational deployments.
Whilst volunteering I am able to work with an amazing team who makes a significant impact on patient outcomes.
I thrive on the fast paced, challenging environments that WMCT offers.
Richard Howarth
Nurse, ACP
I am a registered nurse by background having worked in EDs across the West Midlands since qualifying, alongside roles working pre-hospitally and in event medicine.
I currently work as a tACP in Emergency Medicine in a Major Trauma Centre.
I have been with the CARE Team since 2014 working through the training pathway to qualify as a Clinical Support within the team
I have also held additional management roles within the team as recruitment and core training lead, with me currently acting as the ACP Development Lead.
Dr. Rinesh Parmar
Consultant
Rinesh is a Consultant Anaesthetist at the Dudley Group of Hospitals NHSFT.
He specialises in Vascular, Colorectal and Obstetric Anaesthesia.
Rinesh joined the team in 2015 to further his interest in Pre-hospital Care. He has a longstanding interest in event medicine and he holds the Diploma in Immediate Medical Care.
Rob Aldham

I'm a HART Paramedic originally from Bristol and I've been with the team since January 2023.
I've wanted to join the charity since I qualified as a Paramedic in 2017, so I feel exceptionally lucky to have become part of the team!
Outside of work you'll find me in the gym or away in my campervan.

I am a medical student at the University of Warwick with a keen interest in prehospital medicine.
I joined the team because being able to be a part of a team that can provide such high quality care, in all senses of the word, in such challenging cases is truly inspirational.
I hope that being around such incredible clinicians and peers will help me become the best doctor I can be.
Dr. Francesca Harper

I am a Resident Doctor working within the Black Country with a strong passion for Emergency Care both in and outside of hospital. I have a strong interest in medical education with a focus on resuscitation, and thoroughly enjoy taking this into local communities.

I am a newly qualified junior doctor excited to start the next chapter of my career in the West Midlands area. The CARE team is made up of a group of brilliant professionals, who are passionate about the service they provide to the community. As a Junior Member I hope to aid the team in all aspects of their roles.
Dr. Phil Devitt

I am a Resident Doctor and Ambulance Technician with a strong interest in Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine.
It's a privilege to be able to support WMCT in my capacity as a Junior Member, and I hope to some day be a clinical member of the team.
My particular interests are public outreach and education, human factors in PHEM, and pre-hospital palliative care.
